Exploring Collage: Experiment with line, tone, colour, texture and shape.

Workshop led by Sarah Holloway BA (Hons) PGCE

10.00am - 4pm, Saturday 29 July 2017, at Much Ado Books, Alfriston

Following the success of her Autumn and Spring workshops, Sarah is set to lead another workshop for crafters interested in exploring collage techniques

Participants will enjoy a 10% discount on purchases at Much Ado that day!
This intermediate workshop will build and expand on techiniques already explored where previous and new participants alike are welcome to come on board, as there will be opportunity for reviewing techniques as required. Therefore you can approach this day with whatever level of experience you bring to it and you will have the opportunity to deepen your creative focus, as well as learn new skills.

Working with a variety of different types of paper and mixed media of your choice, we will continue to explore collage making. You will have access to old books kindly donated by Much Ado Books that can be cut up and used as part of the image; with further ideas for mixing, layering and combining text and imagery, using everything from handmade and coloured papers/card to coloured foil transfers and letter printing blocks. You will also be able to explore making coloured surfaces to cut and layer shapes from. There will be the opportunity to look at collage by contemporary & historical artists for extra inspiration.
We will experiment and have fun, using our imagination to create unique & expressive collage pieces.
