Stefan Buczacki: Earth to Earth – A Natural History of Churchyards

Author Stefan Buczacki has published a fascinating and beautiful exploration of the plants and animals that make churchyards their home. Join him for a talk raising funds for the Saint Andrews Restoration Fund on Saturday 28 April!

Earth to Earth uncovers the wild animals and plants that thrive amongst the headstones, from the graveyard beetle to the mighty yew. Beautifully illustrated, it explores the history of churchyards and the landscape, as well as what can be done to conserve them for future generations.

Professor Buczacki is a world-renowned botanist, naturalist and author. In 2013 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Garden Media Guild and he spent twelve unbroken years as panellist and Chairman on Radio 4's 'Gardeners' Question Time'.

Stefan will be revealing the natural wonders of churchyards - and if weather allows it may lead tours of Saint Andrews' own churchyard –  from 2:30pm on Saturday, 28 April 2018. Tickets cost £7.50, and include light refreshments following the talk.

Ticket sales will benefit the Saint Andrews Restoration Fund - as will £3 from every copy of the £15 book we sell during the event.
