"Much is Done" – Sussex Stitchers setting up their first-ever selling exhibition in The Barn at Much Ado

Local members of the Embroiderers’ Guild, currently celebrating 40 years of blissful existence, have come together to raise funds and show off their extraordinary skills at a special show set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10, 11 and 12 November.

You'll discover a wonderful variety of delightful works, ranging from Christmas decorations to stunning art to grace any wall.

The embroiderers have been busy with needle and thread for months, creating special pieces for their first-ever selling show. 10% of funds will be donated to charity.

"We create decorative fabrics, then embellishment follows using whatever comes to hand, including the traditional silks, cottons and wools," said member Sue Clark.  "The Sussex landscape and coast inspires greatly and the countryside and beaches bear many bits and bobs ripe for inclusion in a project.  Consequent achievements can be stunning, especially with a little help from friends!"

The show is set for 2 to 5pm on Friday 10 November; 10 to 5pm on Saturday 11 November; and 11 to 5 on Sunday 12 November.

"We are renowned for being all inclusive, sharing our various skills, techniques and enthusiasm in our monthly gatherings.  More significantly, we take pleasure in the putting of thread to fabric, whilst enjoying each other’s friendship and company, generally over tea and the all important cake," says Sue.
