5 April or 12 April: Drawing Mrs Dalloway on a Tablecloth
5 April or 12 April: Drawing Mrs Dalloway on a Tablecloth
The London Literary Salon is visiting Alfriston over two weekends to celebrate the centenary of publication of Virginia Woolf’s ground-breaking novel Mrs Dalloway in 1925.
They have generously offered any Woolf readers to join a relaxed, friendly chat about the book, with an opportunity to translate your thoughts about it into a collage while we chat.
There are two opportunities to join the chat, one on Saturday 5 April and one on Saturday 12 April.
Led by experienced facilitators, we’ll exchange thoughts about Mrs Dalloway and how Woolf’s ground-breaking novel helped make modernism a force.
Share an evening of readings and discussion over a drink or two, with opportunities for everyone to join in creating a combined response to the text in collage form: drawing and writing responses, grabbing words and images to generate unique visual interpretations of this amazing work.
Materials will be provided and no previous experience or skill required!
Come along on either Saturday 5 April or Saturday 12 April, at The Star Inn, Alfriston. On each day the event will begin at 5:30, and last until around 7:30. Tickets costs £5; drinks will be available at The Star’s bar.
Please specify the day you’d like to join. We will not issue tickets, but will keep a guest list.
